A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the human rights suit filed by billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi “Evans” Onwuamadike against the Police till September 21.
The presiding judge, Justice Obiozor, on Tuesday said there is no more urgency for the suit to be heard during the vacation of the judges.
He added that the arraignment of Evans before the State High Court has mitigated against any urgency in the suit.
The Federal High Court in Lagos had earlier fixed September 5 to deliver judgment.
Justice Obiozor then adjourned to September 21 for hearing of the case.
Evans had demanded N300m as compensation while challenging his continued detention without arraignment and his parade before journalists as unconstitutional.
Evans and some of his accomplices pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping and conspiracy recently at the Lagos High Court.
