Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has been restrained from creation of four new emirates in the state by a Kano state high court sitting on Friday.
Okay Nigeria reported that the governor had assented the bill passed by the Kano state Assembly on Wednesday.
Hon Sule Gwarzo, the plaintiff, filed an ex parte motion before Justice Nasiru Saminu, asking the court to restrain the respondents from taking any action of creating four additional emirates.
However, in an interim injunction, the court ordered all parties in this suit to maintain status quo pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
