The Nigerian Army says the Damaturu-Bui road which insurgents littered with mines has been cleared and now safe for use, PMNEWS reports.
The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, who announced this in Abuja, said measures had been put in place to ensure adequate safety for road users on the axis.
He explained that it took collaborative efforts of Nigerian Army special forces, explosives ordinance devices with support from the Nigeria Police and local vigilante to comb the area.
Colonel Usman noted that four improvised explosive devices planted by the suspected boko haram terrorists were discovered and successfully detonated while urging the citizenry to use the road that adequate security had been provided put in place.
