Nigerian media personality, Denrele Edun, has disclosed a harrowing experience of battling with a stroke that left him partially paralyzed in the face, revealing how he coped with the illness that profoundly impacted his life.
In a recent interview with Channels TV, Denrele shared his ordeal, narrating how the sickness affected one of his eyes and distorted his face, prompting him to conceal the affected side with his distinctive hairstyles.
The 42-year-old television presenter recounted the challenges he faced during the period of partial paralysis, describing it as the most daunting chapter of his life. He revealed struggling to breathe properly and experiencing difficulty hearing during the ordeal.
Denrele candidly admitted that while battling the stroke, he received an invitation from a friend to participate in a movie shoot. Despite his fragile health condition, he attended the shoot to avoid having to explain his absence.
“I had just come out of having a stroke on half of my face, I was very sick,” he said.
“But it still did not stop me from working. My face was dropping on the right side. Anytime I had to drink water, it would pour out of my mouth. One of my eyes was widely opened, and I could not hear and breathe.”
Denrele, renowned for his unique fashion sense and vibrant personality, began his television career at the age of eleven.
