The Continuous Voter Registration exercise have commenced on Monday in Edo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The CVR exercise will capture intending voters yet to register ahead of the governorship election in Edo by September 21, 2024.
The collection of CVR and the PVC would be a 10-day exercise from May 27 to June 5, 2024, from 9am to 3pm on a daily basis not excluding weekends.
This action by INEC negate a call from the state acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe on Friday, for INEC to cancel the exercise due to the damage to the secretariat, materials and equipment meant for CVR.
The Edo INEC head of Voters Education and Publicity, Timidi Wariowei, reacted by saying it is unfair to lay such an allegation against the election umpire.
The CVR exercise was supervised in Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha local government displayed that PVC collection was in action alongside with the continuous voter registration exercise.
