Twenty-four hours after the Court of Appeal in Abuja affirmed the election of Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose’s victory, the founder of LEADERSHIP Group, Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah, has called on the state’s former governor, Kayode Fayemi, to go to court and reclaim his mandate from Fayose.
Nda-Isaiah, who is a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Party (APC), made the call during the first APC Joint Leadership Meeting in Abuja yesterday after watching both video and audio clips detailing how the June 21, 2014 Ekiti governorship election was allegedly rigged in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While the audio clip was recorded by one Captain Sagir Koli, who was at the time of the election an intelligence officer with 32 Artillery Brigade, which covers Ondo and Ekiti states, the video clip was an interview via Skype conducted by Sahara TV.
The audience was held spell-bound as Koli, in the video, detailed how the military was pressurised to favour Fayose during the governorship election.
In his goodwill message during the meeting, Nda-Isaiah expressed shock at such brazen electoral fraud, saying: “I didn’t know that Nigeria is this bad.”
He, however, declared that it was game up for the ruling PDP.
“I don’t think we should allow this to pass, even for the sake of this country. Like I said, the game is up. It is now for the people of this country to take over,” he said.
He urged the APC campaign team to enlist the services of the Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, for his expertise in standing up to PDP’s rigging machine in Osun State.
