The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, was on Tuesday taken into custody by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, Ekweremadu was held by the anti-graft since 9: a.m., Tuesday morning.
The reason for his arrest was, however, not disclosed as at the time of filing this report.
EFCC had invited Ekweremadu over allegation of money laundering in a letter dated July 24, 2018,
The anti-graft agaency also requested that Ekweremadu should appear at their office by 10:00 am on the same date.
Ekweremadu’s homes was later besieged for several hours last week Tuesday by a combined team of policemen and operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
