Rangers International Football Club of Enugu has emerged as the champion of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) 2023/2024 season. The team secured a 2-1 victory over Gombe United at the Zaria road stadium in Jos, accumulating an impressive 70 points from 38 matches played during the concluded league season.
Team captain Amobi Ezeakwu received the trophy and a prize of ₦150 million from the Nigeria Football Federation president, Ibrahim Musa Gusau. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Nigeria Football Federation board chairman, league board chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.
This victory marks Rangers International’s 8th league title and earns them a spot in the African Champions League competition, where they will represent Nigeria alongside Remo Stars.
The win was witnessed by a notable presence of football governing board members and state governors, solidifying Rangers International’s position as a dominant force in Nigerian football.
