Nigerian singer Fave, also known as Chidozie Ugochinyere, has expressed her disappointment after Davido performed their collaborative hit song, “Kante,” at the 2023 Greater Lagos Fiesta without her.
Davido, one of the headline acts at the event, took to the stage to entertain the audience with a medley of his popular tracks, including “Dami Duro,” “Over Dem,” and “Feel.” Among the songs was “Kante,” a collaboration with Fave from his “Timeless” album.
In a post on social media platform X, Fave shared her disappointment, revealing that she was with Davido backstage but was not called up to perform the song with him.
She expressed surprise at Davido’s decision to perform a new version of “Kante” without her verse.
Despite the setback, Fave maintained a positive outlook, stating that performing with Davido would have been a great way to start her year.
She wrote, “Begun my new years with such a huge gag lol hugging Davido backstage as he’s about to perform, to watching him perform Kante in a new version with my verse taken off. Performing with you would have been a good way to start my year, but I guess life happens. Happy nu year.”
The Greater Lagos Fiesta is an annual cultural event that showcases Lagos’ richness through traditional performances, art exhibitions, and local cuisine stalls.

Other artists who graced the stage included Olamide, Shallipopi, 2Baba, Mayorkun, Teni, Flavour, and Kizz Daniel, contributing to the vibrant celebration of the new year in Lagos.
