HIGHLIGHT – Adinoyi Onukaba Ojo
A former governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Dr Adinoyi Onukaba Ojo has died in an autocrash.

Daily Trust learnt from sources that the incident happened on Sunday night along the Abuja-Akure express way while the politician was returning from the 80th birthday celebration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
It was gathered that the accident occurred following an ambushed laid on the highway by some suspected armed robbers.
Onukaba, a former Managing Director of Daily Times Plc, was amongst the 28 aspirants that sought for the APC ticket to contest the November 21, 2015 governorship election in the state.
He was born on March 9, 1960 in Oboroke-Ihima, Okehi LGA of Kogi State to the family of Mallam Shuaibu Onukaba and Hajia Aisha Onukaba.
Onukaba obtained his first degree in 1982 in Theatre Arts from University of Ibadan and had his national service at Radio Nigeria, Ikoyi–Lagos between 1982 and 1983.
He joined The Guardian newspaper as one of its pioneer reporters in 1983 and rose to the position of News Editor before travelling out in 1989 for post graduate studies.
He bagged Master of Arts degree in Journalism from New York University, New York, USA and worked as a Research Officer at the African Leadership Forum,New York.
Onukaba, a seasoned journalist, had also served as the Information officer,Division of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, United Nations Operation in Somalia (UNOSOM) between 1994 and 1995, amongst other international assignments.
He has published many books and journal articles, amongst them include: “In the Eye of Time”- a biography of former President Olusegun Obasanjo; “Atiku Abubakar”- a biography of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; and “Born to Run” – a biography of Late Dele Giwa, co-authored by him and Dele Olojede, amongst others.
