The Kano State House of Assembly has approved the nomination of Abdullahi Abbas as a commissioner.
Abbas on Thursday resigned as the former Chairman of the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led fanction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His name was forwarded in a letter to the House of Assembly by the state governor.
The letter was read on the floor of the House by the speaker Abdullahi Yusuf Ata.
Following the motion moved by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hamisu Chidari urging the lawmakers to consider the nominee, they unanimously approved his appointment.
The former APC chairman was the Commissioner for Environment during the administration of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
Abbas vowed to work together with every member of the state executive council to ensure the development of the state.
