There was pandemonium in Durmin Biri village in Kafur area of Katsina state following the death of a young man who died during a flogging game, competing for a bride.
The man, identified as Yari Inusa, died following the injuries he sustained on the head during the Fulani marriage traditional game called Sharo.
Sharo is a Fulani traditional game where two men flog each other for a woman’s hand in marriage, whoever wins marries the said lady.

Saidu had reportedly hit Inusa on the head instead of his back as the rules of the game stipulate.
Inusa fainted after he was struck on the head and later died.
The Katsina State Police Command spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident.
He said, “Inusa’s father, Mallam, reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of Saidu.”
