Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called for a reconciliation between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nyesom Wike, to end the escalating political tension in Rivers.
Goodluck made the appeal while inaugurating the construction of the N222.1bn Trans-Kalabari Road, urging Fubara and Wike to work together for the growth and development of Rivers.
He noted that the political crisis in the state was too much and would hinder development, destabilize the Niger Delta region, and have negative effects on the country, emphasizing Rivers’ importance to Nigeria.
This comes as Goodkuck arrived in Rivers to unveil the construction of the Trans-Kalabari road and inaugurated projects in Akwa Ibom State.
