The Nnamdi Kanu-led pro-Biafra group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Tuesday condemned remarks made by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state.
Okorocha had on Monday warned IPOB and its leader, Kanu, against deceiving people of the South-east. He said the IPOB group is mongering for a war that the Igbo people cannot afford.
He went on to advise people to stop listening to uIPOB as they stand to lose more than they can afford.
In its reaction to the governor’s opinion, the group said it is not distracting the people as it continues its agitation for the actualisation of Biafra.
The pro-Biafra group said it is fighting to achieve freedom for the people of the South-east and would not be distracted by those who ar e “derailed mentally”.
These are contained in a statement released by Chinasa Nworu, IPOB directorate of state.
“Okorocha is in state of confusion and frustration because we said there will be no more election in Biafraland until a date for referendum is announced for us.
“If Okorocha want to be part of the contraption called Nigeria, call for a referendum period! He should know that the game have changed from political power to peoples power, in fact, the change brought in by IPOB is fizzling political harlots like Okorocha from power,” the statement read.
