Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), one of Nigeria’s largest commercial banks, has issued an apology to customers following service disruptions caused by an unexpected power surge.
In an email sent to customers, GTBank acknowledged the inconvenience experienced by customers who rely on the bank’s services for daily transactions and business operations.
The bank stated that it takes its commitment to 100% uptime “very personally” and continuously deploys resources to maintain uninterrupted service availability.
However, the email explained that an “unusual power surge” impacted GTBank’s systems, leading to temporary outages.
The bank said it immediately worked to minimize the impact and was able to restore service across its channels.
“We know the trust you place in us when you choose to bank with us, and we do not take this for granted,” the email stated.
“Once again, we apologize for every inconvenience. We thank you very much for your understanding and for bearing with us during the disruption.”
