HIGHLIGHT
Chelsea’s star attacker made a mockery of the Gunners’ defence when he dribbled from his own half before finishing past Petr Cech.
Chelsea’s David Luiz has compared team-mate Eden Hazard to Brazil legend Ronaldinho in the wake of the Belgian’s stunning solo goal against Arsenal on Saturday.
Hazard, whose form had come under scrutiny last year during a particularly poor season for the club as a whole, has been back at his best this term and his upturn was highlighted further against the Gunners.
Having picked up the ball in his own half, Hazard eluded no less than four defenders before rifling home to put Blues compatriot Luiz in mind of a Brazil icon.
“[Eden’s goal] was fantastic – it reminded me a bit of Ronaldinho,” Luiz said after the match.
“I love Eden’s talent and I love him as a person so I enjoy having this kind of person in my team.”
Elsewhere, former Everton manager, now Belgium boss, Roberto Martinez said the 26-year-old put him in mind of another Ballon d’Or winner , telling Goals on Sunday: “What he does is quite unique.
“That acceleration, stop and standing still – he reminds me a lot of Messi.”
