A-list hip-hop artiste Albert Johnson, popularly known as Prodigy, has died after brief complications.
He passed away at the age of 42.
The rap mogul was hospitalised few days ago in Las Vegas following a sickle cell anemia crisis after a Mobb Deep performance on Saturday.
According to TMZ, most of his fans are in the know that he had been battling with the disease since birth. However, the specific cause of his death has not been ascertained.
Prodigee, who was active in the entertainment industry for about 28 years, thrilled his fans alongside his Mobb Deep partner Havoc in the 90s with ‘Shook Ones’ and ‘Quiet Storm’.
It was gathered that he had reportedly been in Las Vegas last week, performing as part of the Art of Rap tour, which saw the likes of KRS-One and Ice-T.
