The House of Representative has discontinued plenary after members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) broke into the premises of National Assembly on Wednesday.
According to reports reaching Okay Nigeria, the IMN members also known as shi’ites overpowered the security operatives stationed at the first before heading for the second gate.
Okay Nigeria understands that the shi’ites are protesting for the release of their leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
Presiding on Wednesday, Yusuf Lawan, Deputy speaker of the house of representatives, upon receiving information on the incident choose to adjourn the plenary.
Meanwhile, more security operatives have been deployed to the second gate to handle the protesters.
