The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, said his decision not to contest the forthcoming National Convention of the party was his personal decision and not because of his case in court.
Metuh had in a statement on Thursday, said he would not stand for any position in the party in the May 21 National Convention.
It was however, reported that he was barred from contesting because of his trial in court in connection with his alleged involvement in $2.1 billion arms deal from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA).
In another statement on Friday, Metuh said there is no truth in the report that he has been barred from contesting any position at the forthcoming National Convention.
