The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the effective promotion of the officers involved in the arrest of kingpin kidnapper, Evans.
According to Saturday Sun, this comes as an act of motivation from the IGP for his men to do more in arresting crimes in the country.
A close source to The Saturday Sun, revealed that 35 operatives of Intelligence Response Team (IRT), 11 from the Technical Unit (TIU) and one from the IGP monitoring section, were involved in the arrest.
According to Saturday Sun reporter who caught a glimpse of the memo list containing the names of some of the beneficiaries signed by the Commissioner of Police, Posi Ajunwa, 29 sergeants were promoted to rank of Inspector, while three Corporals were promoted to the rank of Sergeant with effect from yesterday, June 16, 2017.
Some of the excited beneficiaries who could not hold their joy for this meritorious promotion, vowed to work harder.
Evans is a notorious billionaire kidnapper, who was declared wanted by the Nigerian police for over three years.
The alleged kidnapper who is a married father of five children, was finally arrested by the police 17th of June, 2017.
