The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki says he is yet to join a new party to seek his re-election into office.
This is coming hours after his announcement to resign from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a member.
Okay.ng recalls that Obaseki was disqualified to run under the APC to seek his re-election as governor.
The party screening panel ruled that the governor isn’t qualified to contest on the platform over a defective certificate.
Obaseki via his Twitter handle on early Wednesday morning noted that he is yet to move to another party, adding that his focus at the moment is to curb the spread of COVID-19.
He said: “I have not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election. My focus now is to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which is ravaging our country and threatening our healthcare system. Stay safe.”
I have not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election.
My focus now is to control the spread of the coronavirus (#COVID19) pandemic, which is ravaging our country and threatening our healthcare system.
Stay safe.
