Singer and dancer Yeni Kuti has revealed that infidelity in marriage is not a “deal breaker” for her, but that she would only consider leaving her partner if she discovered that her partner was sleeping with another man.
Yeni, who is in a relationship with Theo Lawson, speaking on Television Continental (TVC)’s program “Your View,” recounted her mother’s experience while married to the late Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti, stating that her mother was not happy in the union but did not leave him.
“For me, cheating is not a deal breaker and I always say it here. My father had 27 wives, my mother didn’t go,” Yeni said.
“It is not that my man will cheat and I will say I am going to cheat my own. If it comes to that, let me be going.”
Yeni went on to explain that while everyone has their own deal breaker, hers is specifically related to her partner sleeping with another man.
“My own deal breaker is if I find out that my own partner is sleeping with another man. That’s my deal breaker. They won’t even beg me. I will run. It is cheating but cheating get cheating.
“If you are cheating with a woman I can… But if you are cheating with a man, that one na deal breaker.”
