Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke is set to be extradited back to Nigeria soon after the International Police (INTERPOL) issued an arrest warrant for her following a request by the Federal Government.
According to the Punch, Necessary charges had been filed and attached to the extradition request by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF).
Following this request, all Interpol member countries were obliged to arrest Diezani Allison-Madueke anywhere she is seen on their territories.
Madueke had been in London, United Kingdom for over three years since the last election in 2015.
A source who spoke with the Punch on the case said, “We have filed the necessary processes and the Interpol has red-flagged Allison-Madueke. This means that the extradition process has been kickstarted and the former minister may be arrested by the United Kingdom police or any police agency all over the world and repatriated to Nigeria.”
