The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned registration centres against conducting nighttime registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), citing safety concerns for candidates.
In a statement issued on Sunday, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, described the practice as worrisome, stressing that while the Board appreciates the enthusiasm of registration centres to accommodate more candidates, it should not come at the expense of their safety and security.
“In light of this, JAMB provides clarity and issues a stern warning to the centres listed below, as well as any others that may consider engaging in similar practices, to immediately cease these activities.”

JAMB issued a final warning to these centres, stating that no further notices would be given before decisive action is taken against them.
“JAMB will not tolerate any violations of the regulations governing the registration process and will take appropriate measures against any centre engaged in questionable or exploitative practices during this exercise.”
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitor the registration process to ensure adherence to established guidelines while safeguarding the integrity of the UTME registration exercise.
“JAMB urges centres to prioritize the well-being of our nation’s youth over mere profit margins.”
