American rap mogul Jay-Z has finally opened up on the cause of his protracted feud with former business partner and colleague Kanye West.
The rapper told Rap Radar host, Elliot Wilson and Brian “BDot” Miller that his “Kill Jay-Z” track off his latest album 4:44, was not about Kanye West.
The “4:44” crooner said that the track was about him, adding that his former Tidal partner had wronged him when he dissed his daughter Blue Ivy on stage.
According to the Platinum rap artiste, his music diva wife Beyonce was deeply hurt because she wondered why amidst their celebrity status, he would think of dragging their child into their mess.
Jay-Z said that they’d had fights in the past which they never let stretch past how it started but this is a major feud between him and the ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper because he dragged their families into the mess.
In reference to Kanye’s infamous rant last year, Jay said,”You got hurt, because this guy was talking about you on a stage.
“But what really hurt me, you can’t bring my kid or my wife into it. … We’ve gotten past bigger issues, but you brought my family into it, now it’s a problem with me.”
“You know it’s a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues. And he knows he crossed the line. He knows. And I know he knows. ‘Cause we’ve never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we’ve had many. That’s part of who we are.
“Don’t talk about anyone’s kid on stage. Our children are already in this place where they’re affected by our celebrity status. Don’t go and do something that’ll allow people to pit us against each other. Don’t do that.”
Last year, Kanye West said in his Sacramento concert that, “JAY-Z, call me, bruh. You still ain’t calling me. JAY-Z, call me. Aye, bruh, I know you got killers. Please don’t send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man.”
