John Mahama has been sworn in as Ghana’s president in a ceremony attended by dignitaries, including world leaders, in the nation’s capital, Accra.
Mahama, who served as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017, reclaimed the presidency following his victory in the 2024 presidential election, held on December 8th.
He defeated the incumbent Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, marking a historic return to power after a seven-year absence.
The inauguration ceremony is underway, with leaders from across the globe present to witness the event. Among them is Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who traveled from Lagos on Monday to attend the occasion.
