The Katsina state governorship election petition tribunal has validated the election of Aminu Masari.
In March, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Masari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the governorship election in the state.
However, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yakubu Lado dragged Masari to the tribunal praying that the election should be cancelled over alleged irregularities.
Lado and the PDP also asked the court to disqualify Masari for allegedly not having educational qualification to run for the election.
Meanwhile, In a ruling on Saturday, the judge, Dele Omotosho said that the Lado and PDP failed to prove the allegation of substantial non-compliance to the electoral act in the conduct of the election.
Omotosho then ruled that Masari was qualified to have contested the election stating that Lado and PDP were not able to prove the allegations in their petitions.
