Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager has admitted that he made “one of the biggest mistakes” by playing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Liverpool’s Under-23s clash against Derby County.
Oxlade-Chamberlain sustained an injury in Liverpool clash against Roma in the Champions League semi-final last season.
The former Arsenal player made his return to action earlier this month as the Reds youngsters beat their opponents 3-1 but the England midfielder was withdrawn shortly before half-time.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool clash against Tottenham on Sunday, Klopp said: “One of the biggest mistakes was being exciting at Ox being back,”
“That put the focus on the Derby U23s game. Now we keep him in the shadow, he will train and when he’s back properly I will speak about him then.”
