The state of Kwara is in mourning following the demise of retired Justice Ahmad Belgore, a former Justice of the Court of Appeal. Justice Belgore passed away at the age of 71, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to the legal profession.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, expressed profound sadness at the news of Justice Belgore’s death. Governor AbdulRazaq extended his heartfelt condolences to the entire Ilorin Emirate and the Belgores family, acknowledging the loss of a distinguished individual.
Justice Belgore retired from the Court of Appeal on April 18, 2023, upon reaching the age of 70. Throughout his career, he made significant contributions to the judiciary and society at large, earning respect and admiration from his peers and the community.
In his condolence message, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, also paid tribute to Justice Belgore. He described the late Justice as one of the finest jurists produced by the Ilorin Emirate, emphasizing his contributions to the growth and development of the judiciary.
Both Governor AbdulRazaq and Emir Sulu-Gambari prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for Justice Belgore, and they expressed hope that he would be granted a place in Al-Janatul Firdaus, the highest paradise.
