Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is set to play the role of chief host at a special dinner organized by the Lagos State government in honor of the Super Eagles.
The event, scheduled for tonight, serves as a farewell gesture before the team departs for Cote d’Ivoire to participate in the 34th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
The glamour event, co-hosted by Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh, will witness the presence of distinguished guests, including Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State).
The special dinner is expected to be attended by notable personalities, including President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, parliamentarians, NFF Executive Committee members, Lagos State government officials, and representatives of NFF’s corporate partners and sponsors.
The 25 players and their officials will arrive in Lagos on a chartered aircraft this evening, making the farewell dinner a significant prelude to their journey to Cote d’Ivoire for the AFCON tournament.
Expressing gratitude, NFF President Musa Gusau acknowledged the magnanimity of Governor Sanwo-Olu and his administration in hosting the event.
