The Lagos state Government says it will build 2,000 housing units in three separate locations in the state.
The state’s Ministry of Housing said this followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with a firm, Echostone Development Nigeria Limited.
The Commissioner for Housing, Gbolahan Lawal, noted in a statement that the firm would use its money and use a new technology to facilitate the construction of houses.
On the other hand, the state government will provide land.
“The company is expected to develop 2,000 housing units of two-bedroomed-bungalows in three locations, starting with 250 units at Idale in Badagry,” the commissioner noted.
“It will move to Ayobo in Alimosho and later to Imota in Ikorodu for the development of the rest of the houses.”
He also said the development was part of the state’s plan to provide affordable housing for the masses.
Lawal stated that the housing units would be completed within four years.
