Liverpool on Tuesday disclosed that forward Sadio Mane could be out of action for up to six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty.
Mane was substituted in Senegal’s 2-0 win over the Cape Verde Islands just as the match was drawing to a close.
“It has now been confirmed that he picked up an injury during that fixture that could keep him out of action for up to six weeks,” the statement on the club’s website said.
This would come as a blow as the Kops prepare to face Manchester United and marks the second lay-off this season for Mane after his three-match ban for dangerous play in the game against Manchester City.
