Manu Garba has been reappointed coach of the Nigeria U17 team by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The NFF announced his appointment in a statement on Thursday following the promotion of esrtwhile Golden Eaglets coach Emmanuel Amuneke to the Flying Eagles.
Garba who won the U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013 had earlier expressed his readiness to work in any capacity.
“I am ready to serve my country in any capacity if given the opportunity to do so,” Garba said.
While in charge, he will be assisted by Atuni Ali and Ernest Teigpanyo.
Garba was drafted to lead the Golden Eaglets after he failed to see the Flying Eagles beyond the round of 16 at the Fifa U20 World Cup in New Zealand last year.
Garba’s assignment in charge of the reigning U17 World champions will begin against the Baby Menas of Niger Republic in the second round qualifying stage for the 2017 African U17 Championship in April.
He will be eager to impress his employers by guiding the Golden Eaglets to qualify for Madagascar and 2017 U17 World Cup in India respectively.
