Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi has said his retirement from the team depends on what happens in the nearest future.
The former Chelsea man was on show for the Eagles as they crashed out of the 2018 World Cup after losing 1-2 to Argentina on Tuesday.
Speaking about his future with the national team, the Tianjin TEDA man said he loves the side and is not in haste to make a decision.
‘‘My continued stay in the Super Eagles will be determined by future realities, but I love the team,” Mikel said. “It is very young, disciplined and supportive.”
He added: “We should wait for the Eagles to qualify first. I hope I can still be around but that will depend on if the team qualify.”
