Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that the ministerial list of President Muhammadu Buhari will be screened transparently without pettiness and political vendetta.
There have been speculations that the screening of ministerial nominees by the senate would be filled with political vendetta following the humiliation of Senate President Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Saraki is currently facing a 13-count charge of corruption and false declaration of assets while serving as Governor of Kwara State, an allegation the senate president said is politically motivated.
But Saraki, in his speech at the resumption of the senate from a six-weeks recess said the screening will be transparent.
He however said the senate is still expecting the list of ministerial nominees from the president.
Saraki read out some letters from the president seeking the confirmation of Babatunde Fowler as chairman of the Federal Inland revenue Service (FIRS), Alhaji Lawal Kure as chairman of the Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON) and Garba Danbata as chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
