Mojisola Meranda, the newly elected Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has officially moved into the Speaker’s office at the Assembly Complex.
Meranda’s assumption of office on Monday was marked by a prayer session, during which she and other members of the House sought divine guidance for effective leadership and collaboration among the lawmakers.
The Speaker was accompanied by her colleagues as she settled into her new role, pledging to foster unity and drive legislative excellence.
However, controversy continues to brew as former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who was removed on January 13, 2025, following allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation, insists he remains the rightful Speaker.
Breaking his silence on Saturday, Obasa stated that he remain the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly until the due process is followed.
