Morocco, will host the official draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON 2024 on Thursday, March 7, the Mohamed VI Sports Complex in Rabat,
Scheduled to kick off at 17:00 local time (15:00 GMT), the draw marks the return of the prestigious futsal tournament, now in its 7th edition.
Morocco, as defending champions and hosts, will lead the pack with the A1 seeding, joined by Egypt, Angola, Mauritania, Namibia, Ghana, Zambia, and Libya. These teams will await their fate as the draw determines the composition of the two groups, each comprising four teams.
The competition is slated to unfold from April 11 to 21, 2024, gracing the floors of the Moulay Prince Abdallah and IBN Yassine Halls in Morocco. Egypt holds the record as the most successful nation in TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON history, while Morocco closely follows with two titles.
Following a round-robin format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Moreover, the tournament serves as a gateway to the FIFA Futsal World Cup, with the top three finishers earning spots in the global event set to take place in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6, 2024.
