Victor Moses has been beaten to the Premier League Player of the Month award for January.
Nigeria’s Victor Moses has failed to win the English Premier League African Player of the Month award for January, despite putting in credible performances for Chelsea as they continue to dominate the English top-flight.
The Nigeria international has instead lost out to Kenya and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama, who also saw off the challenge of Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
Wanyama, 25, had also been impressive for Tottenham in the month under review, posting impressive performances for the North London club, with the highlight of his performances coming against Moses’ Chelsea, where he helped Spurs inflict a first defeat in 14 games against the Blues.
This is the first time the Kenya international is winning the award since September 2015, when he was still at Southampton.
