Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has informed the club about spending big money for Inter Milan‘s Milan Skriniar and AC Milan‘s Alessio Romagnoli in the January transfer window.
According to ESPN, United boss wants the club to give him their full backing in the mid-season market and try to secure deals for two of the best defenders in Serie A.
The Red Devils are currently seven points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
Mourinho was expecting to spend in the region of £100 million ahead of this campaign but spent £68m signing Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.
But Skriniar and Romagnoli are 23years and would be available to play in the Champions League knockout rounds this season, after changes to UEFA rules, with both valued at in the region of £40m.
