Senate President Bukola Saraki says the National Assembly has enacted some laws that would create over 1.57m jobs and improve income growth in Nigeria within the next five years.
Speaking at the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) on Monday, the lawmaker said NASS embarked on the enactment of the laws to curb the economic hardship Nigerians are facing.
The senate President added that the laws were also to help Nigeria leave the circle of over reliance on oil and focus on other sectors of the economy which would enhance exclusive growth in the country.
The National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) is organised in partnership with the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), DFID ENABLE project, and the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law (NBA, SBL).
NASSBER is a constructive engagement between the National Assembly and the private sector, a legislative agenda adopted to set in motion modalities to give the legislature a clear focus.
