Senator Ned Nwoko has firmly dismissed speculation that he is planning to take Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife, calling the rumors false and maliciously crafted.
The rumors gained traction following the sudden deactivation of Regina Daniels’ Instagram account, which fueled speculation about marital tensions and unverified claims that Chika Ike was pregnant for Nwoko.
In response, Nwoko’s office issued a statement on Monday, shutting down the rumors and cautioning against misinformation.
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him. We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation,” the statement read.
The senator’s team also denied separate reports suggesting he made comments about Tuface Idibia and polygamy, branding them as “completely untrue.”
“As a public figure, and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories,” the statement added.
Nwoko’s office emphasized that the senator is focused on his political duties and is not distracted by rumors circulating on social media.
“Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate, and has no time for distractions.”
The statement urged the public to disregard the rumors, calling on media practitioners to verify claims before publication to avoid the consequences of spreading false information.
“This office remains available to journalists for verification of information, and we remind media practitioners of the consequences of spreading fake news. The public is advised to rely only on official statements from his office.”
