The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced that the crime rate in Nigeria is decreasing. He made this statement after meeting with President Bola Tinubu and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the State House.
Egbetokun attributed the decline in crime to improved synergy between security agencies and assured that efforts would continue to maintain this trend. He also noted that records of reported crimes across the country support this claim.
Additionally, General Musa stated that measures are in place to tackle oil theft and restore full production of 2.1 million barrels per day.
He emphasized the need for collaboration between security agencies, states, and communities to achieve success in addressing security challenges.
