Super Eagles’ defender William Troost Ekong has vowed that Nigeria will perform better in their second World Cup match against Iceland.
The national team’s next match is at the Volgograd Arena on Friday June 22.
The Bursaspor defender stated that Nigeria will have no other option but to pick maximum points against the Icelanders.
He told Thisday that: “It is going to be a different type of game from what we played against Croatia. We hope to pick maximum points going into our last game against Argentina.”
Ekong further noted that Super Eagles must take advantage of the one-all draw Argentina and Iceland played.
He said: “The result has worked in our favour. We saw that game before playing Croatia. So like I said, all we need to do now is work hard at it and focus on getting the result.”
