Iconic Juju musician, Peter Akanni Akorede, widely recognized as Emperor Pick Peters, popularly known for his renowned track ‘Omode de’ is dead.
Okay.ng gathered that the legendary artist died on Thursday after a brief illness at age 74.
The news of his demise was confirmed by Bimbo Esho, a well-known music promoter and the proprietor of Evergreen Music.
Esho took to her Facebook page to announce the heartbreaking news, paying tribute to the illustrious career and lasting impact of the late musician.
“Omo Ode Ti Ku – The Hunter’s Son is Dead,” Esho’s Facebook post read.
“His name should ring a bell to all lovers of Juju Music. Emperor Pick Peters, one of Nigeria’s great Juju musicians, succumbed to the cold hands of death today in Abeokuta at age 74. May his Gentle Soul rest in peace.”
