The Senate has reintroduced a bill to prosecute any person found guilty of hate speech in Nigeria.
Nelson Ayewoh, clerk of the senate, read the short title of the bill tagged ‘National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speech Bill’ during plenary on Tuesday.

The bill was sponsored by the deputy chief whip, Aliyu Abdullahi.
Okay.ng recalls that the Senate had also a week ago reintroduced social media a bill to regulate social media.
The lawmakers are expected to debate the details of the bill on another legislative day.
