The Nigerian national female basketball team, D’Tigresses, have won the 2017 Women AfroBasket after beating defending champions Senegal 65-46 in Bamako, Mali.
The Nigerian team won even though they lost the first quarter 18-12. This did not deter them, winning the next three quarters 21-10, 15-7, and 17-13.
The D’Tigresses, already assured of a place at the 2018 FIBA World Championship billed for Spain, started their journey to success with a victory over Mozambique.
