Nigeria’s Falconets have been drawn into Group D for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where they will face former champions Germany, alongside Venezuela and South Korea. The draw ceremony took place on Wednesday in Bogotá, Colombia.
This year marks the first time the competition will feature 24 teams, with matches set to be held in four venues across three cities: Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 22 in Colombia.
The new format will see the top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, advancing to the Round of 16, adding an extra layer of competition and excitement to the tournament.
The Falconets have a strong history in the competition, having finished as runners-up in 2010 and 2014.
