The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to as high as N617 per litre at its filling stations in Abuja.
This significant price adjustment comes in the wake of an increase in the ex-depot price and the procurement of new stock.
Customers at NNPCL filling stations in Ushafa and the Durumi mega station, located in the Federal Capital Territory, were greeted with the new price on the fuel dispensing machines.
The sudden surge in the pump price has sparked concerns among motorists and the general public, who are already grappling with the economic challenges posed by rising costs.
