The North Central All Progressives Congress Forum is taking its fight to appeal the Federal High Court ruling that dismissed its suit seeking Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s removal as National Chairman of the party. This comes after Justice Inyang Ekwo struck out the suit, citing that the forum wasn’t a registered entity with legal standing to file it, and that they didn’t explore internal dispute resolution mechanisms before going to court.
The forum’s chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, is adamant that they’ll pursue the matter to its logical conclusion, seeking interpretation of the party’s 2022 constitution and zoning arrangement. They claim Ganduje’s appointment from the North-West zone violates the party’s constitution, which reserves chairmanship for the North-Central zone.
Zazzaga emphasized that the party should prioritize the region’s interests, stating, “The earlier the President and the party realize that remaining in office by Ganduje is retrogression for the party and will incur legal liabilities, the better.” The forum has instructed its lawyer to file an appeal, determined to see this through to its conclusion.
