The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has revealed that 1,500 personnel would be deployed to provide security during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration in the state.
The state NSCDC command’s Public Relations officer, Ibrahim Idris, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Kano.
He said the officers would be deployed to strategic places including Eid grounds and recreational centres in the state.
Idris said the officers were expected to keep vigil at the places with a view to monitoring the activities of people around the areas.
As part of measures to enhance security, Idris also said some of the personnel would also be on patrol along the major streets in Kano metropolis and other major towns.
“We have taken necessary steps to ensure a hitch-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration,” he said.
Idris further revealed that the NSCDC personnel would work in collaboration with other sister security agencies to ensure the security of lives and property during the period and beyond.
He, however, called on members of the public to cooperate with the security agencies in the state by providing timely information on suspected persons.
